It’s two weeks to Valentine’s Day!
For me, Valentine’s Day has always been a little glimpse of joy in the middle of cold and grey winter, even when I was single. Some might consider the whole day and the hassle around it cheesy but I think it’s a great reminder for all of us that we should express our love more. Whether it’s your significant other, your sibling, BFF of a colleague you want to show your appreciation and care, Valentine’s Day is all about letting important people around you know what they mean to you.
I’ve rounded up some great gifts that really show that you’ve put some thought into it and considered the person’s lifestyle.

FIN: Monille ystävänpäivä ja siihen liittyvä jenkkityylinen hössötys tuntuu mauttomalta, mutta minulle se on aina ollut pieni ilon pilkahdus keskellä ankeaa talvea. The Health Conscious
I’m sure someone in your inner circle is conscious of climate change, pollution, ocean plastic waste and the effects of all the above to our health. Changing your disposable water bottle to a BPA-free and dishwasher-safe reusable bottle with a built-in filter is one of the easiest ways to protect nature and your body. Bobble filter bottles come in different colours and sizes but my favourite is this elegant 550ml black one. The filter lasts up to 300 refills and a new one is easily changeable.

The Gluten Intolerant
When I discovered that my body couldn’t handle any gluten I was devastated for my love affair with liquorice had to come to an end. Until a few days ago when I found this amazing luxury liquorice company Johan Bülow that produces gluten-free liquorice made from rice flour. The Danish company’s whole selection is to die (or to gain weight) for and my absolute favourite, Salt Caramel Choc Coated Licorice + other yummy flavours are available at Amazon.

The Man In Your Life
I asked a group of men (well, pilots…) what they would love for a Valentine’s Day gift. Bedroom action being a clear number one choice (and costing you 0€!) the other favourite wasn’t really a surprise either: a steak dinner. So. Instead of booking a table my recommendation is to arrange a night in for only the two of you. If you have kids, this alone-time is especially important.
Go to your local market and buy some high-quality meat. If you feel less than confident in the kitchen there’s a great tutorial about different cuts and how to prepare them on The Kitchn website. Use their recipe search for inspiration and be the best home cook you can be. He’ll be pleasantly surprised. And maybe some of that bedroom action for a dessert…

Ja mikään ei kruunaa iltaa paremmin kuin se, että sinä ehdotat hänen lempi action-elokuvansa katsomista…
